How to share a Wi-Fi password from an Android phone

2 min read · 5 steps · Updated 2 October 2026

Short answer

Open Settings, tap Network & internet, then Internet, tap the gear next to your Wi-Fi network and tap Share. After you confirm with your fingerprint or PIN, the phone shows a QR code and the password in plain text.

Android can show the password of the network you are on, and a QR code that any phone, including an iPhone, can scan to connect.

Menu names below are from Google Pixel phones on a recent Android version. Samsung, Xiaomi and other brands rename some of them, so the Samsung name is given where it differs. The pictures are simplified diagrams of the screen, not screenshots.

Good to know

To see the password of a network you are not connected to now, tap Saved networks, choose it and tap Share.

Share only with people you trust. Devices on the same Wi-Fi can see each other.

In short: Settings, Network & internet, Internet, gear, Share.
